Kim and I are excited to introduce you to our latest project. We’ve been working our hairy hands, ok, my hairy hands (Kim has lovely hands), to the bone, transferring this project from my head to internet-lifedom. Finally, this project is ready to leave the woods of my mind and head into the world:
As we trot around the globe, Kim and I have been consistently and pleasantly enamored with the handicrafts and art in each country we visit. In Peru, we fell in love with the alpaca wool sweaters, hats, gloves, and anything else you can hand-knit. In India, found out that looking is free and caught ourselves wanting to buy textiles to adorn the house we don’t have.
But reality set in quickly (budget-minded travel and purchasing artwork don’t go too well together) and we couldn’t purchase the items we oh-so-quickly fell in love with.
Until one day when the proverbial light bulb lit up in our heads: What if we bought the most beautiful and unique things we came across on our travels and then offered them to you?
Thus, the So Many Places SHOP was born.
This is an experiment. The shop could fail, it could suck, and it could even be a money pit. But we’re trying. We’re trying everything we can think to do to build the life we want to live. For now it means a shop which, if successful, will allow us to travel and earn an income at the same time. The shop is essentially my baby, something I will manage while Kim focuses on her writing career.
Right now, the shop is in its infant stages. At the moment, we’re featuring a few items from Nepal like these intricate, hand-painted mandalas:
In most cases, we only have one of each item.
And if you aren’t in the market for stuff but still want to show your love, we’re even offering these beautiful stickers that you can sport to show your support (don’t worry, I’ll take buying a sticker as support for Wandering Sasquatch, too):
About the shop
As we continue to travel to different (next up: finally making it to SE Asia in the fall), we will keep the shop up-to-date with items we find in the countries we visit. If you’d like to receive an email when the shop is updated, you can sign up for shop updates here (this email will be sent infrequently, no more than once a month).
You can visit the shop anytime by clicking on the shop tab on the homepage of Wandering Sasquatch.
Please visit the shop, take a look around and purchase what you love. We’ve hand-picked everything ourselves and have priced our items to suit any budget.
Help us spread the word
To enter, simply share this blog post on Facebook, Google+, or tweet one of the items in the shop and you’ll be entered to win. Make sure you leave a comment so I know you’ve helped spread the word. A winner will be selected at random on Friday, August 9, 2013.
Thank you so much for your support as we continue to explore ways to make a living doing what we love!
